Abu’d-Darda’ reported that the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, “Anyone who memorises ten ayats from the beginning of Surat al-Kahf (18) will be protected from the Dajjal” (Riyad as-Salihin by Imam An-Nawawi 183 #1012). The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) gave us a shield against the Dajjal. Are we going to use it?

Mu’awiya ibn Qurra said, “I was with Ma’qil al-Muzn when he removed something harmful from the road. Then I saw something and went over to it. He asked. ‘What made you do that, nephew?’ He replied, ‘I saw you do something, so I did it.’ He said, ‘Nephew, you have done well. I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, ‘Whoever removes something harmful…”

Let’s start with a clear order from Allah (swt):

قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ذَلِكَ أَزْكَى لَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ
